Why does not the CNC output from SimCam looks like I want it?

Modified on Mon, 20 May, 2024 at 3:59 AM

First of all, SimCam is a general CAM system meant to assist the CNC programmer. It is not meant to replace him or her.

SimCam can and will be an invaluable tool to help you calculate and create CNC toolpaths much faster than if you would have to do it manually.

But keep in mind that you will always have to finish off the program yourself. This can be anything from adding machine-specific cycles and codes to rearranging and optimizing the CNC code for best efficiency/ compatibility and to make it suit your particular needs in general.

Also, you have the full responsibility to check that it is correct and compatible with your machine before running it outside the simulator environment. We will keep on improving the program to make it even more useful as long as you understand that it is not meant to, and will never be able to replace a skilled and experienced CNC programmer.
